What is AquaStake?
AquaStake is a liquid staking pool on Waterfall, an EVM-compatible blockchain built for decentralization and scalability. By staking WATER tokens with AquaStake and receiving JWATER in return, you unlock both—rewards for your staked assets and additional earnings through DeFi opportunities. With Waterfall’s high-speed transactions and low fees, AquaStake makes staking simple and profitable in the Waterfall ecosystem.
How does AquaStake work?
AquaStake collects users’ staked WATER tokens into a single pool that it continuously allocates among top validators based on its smart strategy to ensure maximized returns for the stakers. In return for the staked WATER, AquaStake issues JWATER, its liquid staking tokens (LST). This lets you receive rewards on staked WATER while still being able to use your JWATER in DeFi for extra earnings
Is AquaStake safe to use?
AquaStake follows best practices in smart contract development, and Waterfall itself implements strong security standards. Always do your own research and manage risks responsibly before interacting with any DeFi platform.
What is liquid staking?
Liquid staking lets you earn rewards without locking up your tokens. When you stake through a liquid staking pool, you receive liquid staking tokens (LST) that represent your share of the pool’s stake (JWATER). You can use the LSTs across DeFi for extra earnings.
What is decentralized finance (DeFi)?
DeFi is an open, permissionless ecosystem of financial services built on blockchain technology. It lets anyone lend, borrow, trade, and earn yields without intermediaries.
Where can I use JWATER?
You can use JWATER across various DeFi protocols on Waterfall, such as DEXs, yield farms, and lending platforms. It provides liquidity and earning opportunities while keeping your stake active
What is Annual Percentage Rate?
Annual Percentage Rate (APR) is the yearly interest rate you can earn on your staked or invested tokens, without factoring in compounding. It indicates your expected simple interest over a 12-month period.
How do I stake WATER?
- Step 1. Connect your wallet.
- Step 2. Add Waterfall in your wallet app (if not added). Before using AquaStake, you need to add the Waterfall Network in your wallet app. There are numerous wallet apps that support EVM-compatible networks. Here’s a how-to guide for one of the most popular ones, Metamask: https://docs.waterfall.network/getting-started/metamask/
- Step 3. In the amount field, enter the amount of WATER you want to stake. When you do, review the detailed information about the transaction you are about to make and, if you are fine with it, proceed to the next step.
- Step 4. Press the staking button.
- Step 5. Confirm the transaction in your wallet app.
How do I withdraw WATER?
- Step 1. Connect your wallet.

- Step 3. In the amount field, enter the amount of WATER you want to withdraw. When you do, review the detailed information about the transaction you are about to make and, if you are fine with it, proceed to the next step.
- Step 4. Press the withdrawal button.
- Step 5. Confirm the transaction in your wallet app. This creates a withdrawal request for AquaStake’s reserve account and puts it in a queue. If the reserve account has enough WATER tokens on its balance when your turn comes, you get the requested amount in full. If it doesn’t, you get a part of the amount depending on the current balance of the reserve account. After this, you have to wait until it has enough to release the rest.
- Step 6. (Optional) Press the Claim button to get your request prioritized for a fee.
